Bruce Woolley H.Q. Network

This week quantum physicists, philosophers, arctic explorers, rappers and comedians have gathered in Oxford for the TED Global ideas conference with the theme of "The Substance of Things not Seen".
While most will be trying to put their ideas into words the Radio Science Orchestra will tackle the theme using "space controlled musical instruments".
The group took time out of a rehearsal to show some of their instruments that make music from light and thin air.

That was great - had my 4yr old Thomas enthralled. The Beamz was like watching an old episode of Star Trek when they were entertained on a planet with futuristic or off world instruments.

I agree Dr Who sounded great, hope for more clips like this on the site.

Cheers Chris & Bruce.

Cool video. Beamz looks interesting, basically appears to be a new type of midi controller, wondering if it could be used to trigger anything other than pre-programmed Beamz sounds. But then how would you control pitch and so forth? So cool to see the band grooving on Doctor Who. Great stuff, thanks for sharing this with us, Chris

By the way, nice Revox, Bruce. PR99 MK1? Classic!
